Zarb Maintains AACSB Accreditation

This week, Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business announced that it has maintained its AACSB accreditation for its business and accounting programs. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the oldest international accrediting organization for business schools, and AACSB accreditation is a mark of excellence in business and accounting education.

Less than five percent of the world’s business programs earn AACSB accreditation. AACSB accreditation has been granted to 687 business schools in approximately fifty countries and territories. 184 institutions also maintain AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs. To receive AACSB accreditation, schools must meet specific standards set by the AACSB, but the school must also show a commitment to providing a high quality business education for future students.

Patrick Socci, the Dean of the Zarb School of Business, was happy to announce that the school maintained its accreditation. “We are pleased that AACSB has sent a very experienced and highly qualified re-accreditation team to Hofstra and found that we continue to deliver high quality education and professional development to our students.” Dean Socci also observed that the AACSB was impressed by future plans for the Zarb School of Business. “They went on to say that our assessment of learning and strategic plan were particularly strong initiatives that will further improve quality in the future.”

In addition to the AACSB accreditation, Zarb has been recognized as one of the nation’s best 295 business schools by The Princeton Review. Zarb also is ranked among the best undergraduate and graduate business schools in the U.S. News & World Report annual list.
