MBA students at Georgetown Univetrsoty McDonough School of Business were treated to two special discussions; one with Harold W. Forsyth, ambassador of Peru to the United States, and another with Jose Andres, chef/owner of ThinkFoodGroup.
The talk came in preparation for the school’s upcoming Global Business Experience international consulting project. The MBA Program often invites key speakers to discuss the economics, history, culture, and business climate of the host countries as part of the Global Business Experience.Ambassador Forsyth spoke to the 45 students heading to Peru to consult with 3M, BVL, Dell, Falabella, Globokas, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, and View Corp. His discussion provided an overview of the importance of Peru as an emerging center for business and development.
Andres spoke to the 60 MBAs traveling to Barcelona, Spain, about food, entrepreneurship, and working in Spain. Students spending time in Spain will present their completed consulting projects to executives at Codorniu, Flamagas, Alstom, Telefonica, Roland DG Corp., Almirall, Banc Sabadell, BBVA, and Union Fenosa.
The McDonough Global Business Experience is an intensive learning experience that helps set the entire MBA curriculum, introducing students to the issues and industries they will focus on during their Global Business Experience in the second year. MBAs will discover and define their projects and work with faculty and senior management at international organizations.
This broadened Global Business Experience empowers students to more fully understand how business is conducted around the world – learning first hand as well as from the experience of their classmates.
