The Carey School of Business is pleased to be throwing the Johns Hopkins Business Plan Competition once again this year. This national recognized competition provides an opportunity for students to take a novel idea or innovative technology and develop a business plan based around it.
Hosted by the Center for Leadership Education, the Business Plan Competition asks competing to students to start with a concept and build an understanding of their target market, analyze potential competitors, craft an effective market entry strategy. They then present their plans to industry professionals and venture capitalists.
This year, the Medical Technology and Life Sciences category of the competition will be accepting entries from across the nation from teams that meet the eligibility requirements, opening up the competition more than ever before. This category of the competition will feature both an Undergraduate track and a Graduate track.
The competition is very popular and highly competitive, drawing teams from all divisions of the university. Student teams will be competing for $72,000 in prize money and the deadline to enter is February 14, 2014.
