LeBow Names Its Business Leader of the Year
Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business has named Ira M. Lubert its Business Leader of the Year. Lubert is the co-founder of Independent Capital Partners, which offers infrastructure support for private equity and real estate investment funds. Lubert is the sixtieth LeBow Business Leader of the Year, and he will be honored at a luncheon for top Philadelphia executives on February 27.
Lubert’s company, Independence Capital Partners, consists of the firms LLR Partners Inc., LEM Capital, Lubert-Adler Real Estate, Quaker Partners,Patriot Financial Partners L.P., and LBC Credit Partners. Indepedence Capital Partners provides back office and infrastructure support to real estate and private equity fund managers. The services include risk and financial management, investor relations, information technology, and compliance.
Lubert himself has more than four decades of experience in private equity and real estate. He was the founder and principal of TL Ventures, an early-stage venture fund that was part of Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. He was also a founder of the first venture fund that Safeguard Scientifics managed, Radnor Venture Partners. Lubin is also on the boards of the Franklin Institute, the National Constitution Center, Penn State University, and Jefferson Hospital, and he is a recruiter for the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of the United Way.
Drexel University President John A.
