LeBow’s Linnehan Named Permanent Dean
Last week, the president of Drexel University announced that Frank Linnehan has been named the R. John Chapel Jr. Dean of Drexel’s LeBow College of Business. Linnehan has served as the interim dean of LeBow since September 2012.
Linnehan took a leadership position at LeBow during a pivotal moment in the school’s development. During his time as interim dean at LeBow, Linnehan oversaw the completion of LeBow’s new academic building, Gerri C. LeBow Hall. He also oversaw the introduction of two new programs: Leading for Change, LeBow’s new leadership development program for Philadelphia governmental administrators, and the Drexel C-Suite Co-ops, which gives MBA students the chance to work with top executives at Urban Outfitters, Apple, Cisco, SAP, eBay, and other top companies. Finally, Linnehan helped with the launch of LeBow College’s new School of Economics Last fall.
Linnehan has held teaching, research, and administrative roles at Drexel since 1997. Before coming to Drexel, he spent 17 years working for national corporations, including General Electric.
President John A. Fry and Provost Mark L. Greenberg stated “During the 18-month search for the next dean of LeBow College, ably chaired by Dean Roger Dennis of Drexel Law, we learned a lot about what it takes to lead a globally focused, industry-connected business school in today’s higher education environment. We came to the conclusion that we had the perfect candidate already in place, and we are pleased that Frank has accepted the position.”
