The Office of Global Initiatives at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business recently welcomed 50 Australian EMBA, MBA, and undergraduate students from RMIT University in Melbourne. RMIT is one of Australia’s most highly-ranked business schools.
The students resided at in College Park from Jan. 4 through 18. The Aussies, many of whom had never been to the United States, got to experience what receiving a top notch business education in an American setting while also diving into US business culture.
Smith faculty member delivered special lectures to their guests from abroad, with Melissa Carrier, Tom Corsi, Rosellina Ferraro, Brent Goldfarb, P.K. Kannan, Bob Krapfel, Hui, Liao, Jeffrey Miller, Susan Taylor, and Janet Wagner.
The foreigner students also enjoyed site visits from companies including GE Medical Healthcare, the International Monetary Fund, Securities and Exchange Commission, Stanley Black & Decker, and the World Bank.
This is the 14th year that Smith has hosted a two-week immersion program, welcoming more than 650 RMIT students over that time. RMIT has been one of Smith’s official exchange partners since 2000 and 45 undergraduate and graduate students have been exchanged between the institutions.
