Graziadio Assistant Professor Named Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance

Dr. Craig R. Everett, director of the Pepperdine Private Capital Markets Project and an assistant professor of finance at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management, has been named co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance, a premier source of academic research related to small business finance and entrepreneurship. Dr. Everett will jointly oversee the peer-reviewed publication with Dr. James C. Brau of Brigham Young University.

The Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance  was established in 1991. The Journal encourages and supports research and inquiry in the field of entrepreneurial and small business finance. The journal’s audience, both authors and as readers, includes academicians and practitioners in the field worldwide. Relevance, originality, rigor, timeliness, and quality are among the key criteria used for making decisions on submitted manuscripts.

Dr. Everett will also chair the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Finance. The Meeting will be held in Los Angeles on September 16-19, 2014. The annual event provides a scholarly forum for the exchange of research ideas related to financial, economic, behavioral, and accounting aspects of small and medium enterprise in a free economy.

Dr. Everett joined the faculty of Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management in 2011. Dr. Everett has been serving as the director of the Pepperdine Capital Market Project. He leads research documenting capital demand and access among privately held businesses, as well as the behavior and characteristics of capital providers, investors and advisors serving the microbusiness and small business to lower middle market.

Dr. Everett publishes an annual 12 segment capital markets report, two quarterly survey reports and an economic forecast. Everett is a frequent commentator on small business finance in the media. Some publications include the Associated Press and the Wall Street Journal. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Purdue University, an MBA from George Mason University, and a B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Tufts University.
