Marshall Professor Honored By Membership to Phi Kappa Phi

Deborah MacInnis, Charles L. and Ramona I. Hilliard Professor of Business Administration, professor of marketing and vice dean for undergraduate programs at the Marshall School of Business – USC, was elected to membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Founded in 1897, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is one of the nation’s oldest and largest honor societies. PKP is an interdisciplinary honor society with a membership of more than 900,000 scholars from around the world.

“It is an honor to be inducted as a member in this prestigious academic organization,” said MacInnis. “My role as a member of the Executive Board will give me the opportunity to meet and to recognize the accomplishments of our stellar faculty and students.”

As USC’s oldest honor society, Phi Kappa Phi has a mission to foster the appreciation for teaching in all USC schools, including undergraduates, graduate and professional students as well as faculty and staff. In partnership with the USC Libraries, the USC Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi provides opportunities for all students and faculty members to engage in research of the highest caliber, to share their experiences with one another and to be recognized for their accomplishments by a supportive academic community.

Membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only, with members initiated each spring on the basis of academic excellence. Deborah MacInnis was nominated by a chapter member and elected by the executive board of the USC chapter. She will be initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, on the USC University Park campus.
