Paul Fouts Named Dean of Ageno School of Business
Golden Gate University announced that after an extensive search, the University has selected Paul Fouts as the next Dean of its Edward S. Ageno School of Business.
Paul Fouts has been with Golden Gate University since 1995. He recently served as the Interim Dean for the Ageno School of Business. He served as Associate Dean of the school and as a Professor of Management for more than 10 years, where he taught several of the University’s strategic business, management, and technology-focused classes.
He is also the recipient of numerous awards including the Moskowitz Prize for outstanding research in socially responsible corporate performance, International Journal of Commerce and Management’s Emerald Literati Best Paper of the Year Award and Golden Gate University’s Outstanding Service Award and Outstanding Scholarship of Teaching Award.
Fouts’ research on competitive strategies, corporate environmental performance, profitability, resource-based perspectives, technology and integrated manufacturing planning and control topics has been published in numerous journals, such as the International Journal of Commerce and Management and Academy of Management Journal.
Dean Fouts has presented on several business-related topics at business and management conferences across the country including the Strategic Management Society Summits and Meetings and the Western Organization and Management Teaching Conferences.
Fouts received his PhD in management at the University of Oregon. He began his two-decade long academic career at Sonoma State University in 1991. Prior to his academic career, he spent almost 20 years in business leadership roles that were focused on marketing, merchandising and product line planning, development and buying at companies including Hewlett-Packard, Buckley & Associates / Marin Mountain Bikes and Jane Klein, Inc.
