Babson Hosts Women’s Entrepreneurship Soiree
Babson College’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (CWEL) hosted the Women’s Entrepreneurship Summer Soiree: An Evening with Boston Business Owners, on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Babson’s Boston Campus. The soiree will feature successful women entrepreneurs who will share their experiences and insights on developing thriving companies within the Greater Boston area.
This networking event brought together thought leaders from Babson’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership and the City of Boston’s Office of Business Development. This program was designed to provide women business owners with the opportunity to form valuable connections with some of the city’s top business front-runners to help strengthen and grow their businesses.
This event was part of the City of Boston’s Women on Main Initiative, which strives to connect Boston’s women-owned Main Street businesses to one another and to the city.
“The City’s Women on Main Initiative is growing and thriving, and we are so excited about our new partnership with Babson’s Center for Women’s and Entrepreneurial Leadership,” said Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh.
Susan Duffy, Executive Director of the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership, says Babson could not have thought of a better partner with whom to achieve this goal than Mayor Walsh and the City of Boston’s Women on Main initiative.
“Our jointly created events, like this sold-out Women’s Entrepreneurship Summer Soiree, provide valuable opportunities for Boston women business owners to create vital connections to one another for the benefit of their businesses,” said Duffy.
“Babson College and CWEL are excited and proud to be working with Mayor Martin Walsh and the City of Boston’s Office of Business Development to create unique and impactful events for Boston’s women business leaders to learn from each other, share ideas and experiences, and create and expand key business networks throughout the city,” said Babson College President Healey.
“President Healey and Mayor Walsh both share a commitment to ensure that women across all socio-economic strata can benefit from programs like CWEL that bring Babson’s entrepreneurial DNA to help Boston’s women start and grow their own businesses,” said Babson College Chief Administrative Officer, Katherine Craven.
The event will took place at 253 Summer Street in Boston from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
