Lerner Student Earns Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship

Lerner College student Deandra Turchi of Turnersville has received a $1,000 scholarship from Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society that recognizes business excellence. Turchi, who earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in business management and marketing from Rowan in May, is pursuing her master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University’s Rohrer College of Business (RCB). Beta Gamma Sigma awards scholarships to students enrolled in business programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International. Turchi joined the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society in 2013. The captain of Rowan’s women’s soccer team also is member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the National College Athlete Honor Society. During the 2013-’14 academic year, she served as president of the Society for the Advancement of Management. In the spring, Turchi received the Tevis M. Goldhaft Leadership in Business Award, the highest honor a Rowan business student can receive, and the Joseph Robert Scholar-Athlete Award, which recognizes an RCB student who also is a varsity athlete. Currently, Turchi is a marketing representative/intern for CLM Advisors of Sewell.
