Anderson Alum Donate $1.5 Million
Investment managers Donnalisa (’86) and William M. Barnum, Jr. have donated $1.5 million to UCLA Anderson School of Management to establish the Donnalisa ’86 and William M. Barnum, Jr. Endowed Term Chair in Management. The endowment will support the teaching and research efforts of distinguished UCLA Anderson faculty.
Donnalisa Barnum is a senior vice president and portfolio manager at Capital World Investors; a division of Capital Research & Management Company, a Los Angeles-based investment management firm with assets of approximately $1.1 trillion. Prior to joining The Capital Group, she worked on Wall Street at Morgan Stanley. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English at Stanford University with honors, a master’s degree in English and Australian literature at the University of Sydney, Australia and an MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Bill Barnum is lead partner at Brentwood Associates, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm that targets investments in middle-market, consumer-related businesses and manages more than $1.2 billion. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with distinction, and a JD/MBA at Stanford University.
In addition to Donnalisa Barnum serving as chair of UCLA Anderson’s Campaign Committee, the Barnums are involved in various community and philanthropic efforts, including Embrace, Saint John’s Health Center Foundation, Harvard-Westlake School, St. Matthew’s Parish School, and Stanford University. In addition, Donnalisa is currently serving on the UCLA Investment Company board.
