Cass Business School Alumni Flock to Monaco for Networking Weekend

The fourth annual alumni gathering in Monaco drew 200 Cass Business School alumni for a weekend of reunions and networking.

Alumni and guests came together from all across Europe and as far as Ghana, South Africa, Kazakhstan and Dubai. They were welcomed with a drinks reception hosted by EasyJet founder and Cass alumnus, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, on the terrace of his Stelios Philanthropic Foundation.

Sir Stelios, who studied on Cass’s Shipping, Trade and Finance MSc, was delighted to host the event and hoped it would inspire others to give back to the Business School.

Festivities continued on Saturday morning as alumni and guests attended a masterclass by Sir Malcom Williamson entitled “55 years in the City”, reflecting on insights and experiences from his long and successful career in financial services. Fellow Cass alumnus Robert Legget hosted the talk and led a Q&A session afterwards. In the evening, alumnus Lutz Strangemann (CEO of Land Union) hosted a barbeque party at his private residence overlooking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

The weekend also offered alumni opportunities to visit some of Monaco’s famous cultural sites. Many seized the chance to spend Saturday afternoon exploring the iconic Grimaldi Forum, whilst others fitted in a visit to the historic Prince’s Palace of Monaco.

The event raised close to EU 9,000 which will be given to the Monaco Bursary Fund for a Cass student in need of financial assistance.
