Marshall Alum. Named Entrepreneur of the Year
The Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the USC Marshall School of Business will honor Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year, Aaron Levie. Levie is the CEO and Co-Founder of Box, a cloud-computing business. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Trojan Grand Ballroom in Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
Levie launched the cloud-computing business for which he is being recognized in 2005, while a sophomore at Marshall. Now, Los Altos-based Box, a platform for online sharing and collaboration, serves approximately 20 million users across almost 200,000 businesses. Inc. Magazine also named Levie Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013.
The Greif Center is among the nation’s leaders in entrepreneurship education and research. Its faculty, a diverse mix of academics and entrepreneur practitioners, together offer undergraduate and graduate programs designed to help students acquire the tools, develop the skills and cultivate the mindset central to organizing, launching and managing successful new ventures.
The programs have ranked consistently among the best in the nation. Business Week with U.S. News and World Report labeled the Greif Center as “one of the best entrepreneurship programs” in the country.
Box is operated around the idea of big business being able to move at start-up speed, with the ability to openly share files in a fully secure atmosphere. Box is for all types of businesses.
The event, which will include a forum and student question-and-answer session, is free to USC students, alumni and invited guests. Registration can be completed online.
