Payscale.com College Salary Report has ranked the Frank G. Zarb School of Business among the top 10 schools in the nation for undergraduate business majors. The ranking is based on the mid-career salary of the school’s graduates.
Hofstra University ranks no. 10 on Payscale.com’s Best Schools by Salary Potential for Business Majors, ahead of Cornell, New York, George Washington, Syracuse, Pace and Rutgers universities. It is the only university in New York state to make the top 10.
Mid-career salary for Zarb School undergraduate business alumni is $116,500, according to the report.
For members of the Zarb School’s Class of 2012-13 who graduated with a bachelor’s degree, 96 percent reported being employed or in graduate school, according to the latest career outcome report. More than half of those who reported being employed accepted their jobs before graduation. Payscale.com also reported that the early career salary for Hofstra University is $48,300.
The 2014-15 PayScale College Salary Report has salary data for business majors from 499 colleges and universities. It should be noted that this ranking does not include salary data from alumni who went on to earn advanced degrees, including MBAs. Many business majors do go on to earn additional degrees, and that often increases earnings even more, especially when the student attends a prestigious business school.
