Zarb Ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek

Bloomberg Businessweek has ranked the full time MBA program at the Frank G. Zarb School of Business among the best in the nation. This ranking is one of only three business schools in the New York City metropolitan area to make the list this year.

This is the first time Hofstra has been included in the 2014 Bloomberg Businessweek rankings. Hofstra has been ranked no. 79. The other New York City metro business schools that were ranked are Columbia University and New York University’s Stern School of Business.

The rankings are based on three factors. The first is the results of a student satisfaction survey. The second is a survey of employers that hire a school’s graduates. The third is the amount of faculty publication in 20 top business journals.

Other awards that the Frank G. Zarb School of Business and Hofstra University have received this year are no. 43 in the nation for graduate programs in finance by The Financial Engineer and one of the top 10 schools for undergraduate business majors by Payscale.com, based on starting and mid-career salaries of alumni.

The Zarb School of Business features five academic departments that are comprised of full-time faculty who are dedicated teachers and leading scholars in their fields.  The school also features a select group of professionals who serve as adjunct faculty, bringing their business expertise to the classroom.

The full time MBA program is a two-year program with a rigorous core curriculum and advanced specialized work in a professional field. The program requires a 41-48 credit course of study in the fundamental areas of accounting, finance, information technology, marketing, international business, operations, communications and leadership skills, global decision making, economics, and the legal environment.
