UIC College of Business Administration and the Liautaud Graduate School of Business are hosting an Alumni Panel on January 5, from 4PM – 6PM in Douglas Hall, Room 320. The exclusive event gives attendees the opportunity to hear from alumni from all three master’s programs (MBA, MSA, MIS) as they share their stories of how UIC Liautaud changed their career direction and its trajectory.

Here are a few note-worthy quotes from Liautaud alumni who have given interviews with the University’s website:
What prompted you to join UIC Liautaud to earn your graduate business degree?
“After a liberal arts undergrad and running my own business for 3 years, I wanted to have a solid foundation in business disciplines like accounting, management, finance, and marketing theory. UIC was the best value, best location, and direct route for me.” –Chris Madden, MBA 2006
What impact has the UIC Liautaud MBA had on you?
“The MBA program cultivated my spirit of entrepreneurship. Reflecting on my experiences prior to graduate school, I suppose that spirit was always present, but the Liautaud program inspired the confidence that I needed to explore it deeper. Along with several fellow students and professors, I founded a biotechnology company, SanoGene Therapeutics, which I managed for several years post-graduation. This company was what first introduced me to the world of technology and innovation.” –Caralynn Nowinski, MBA/MD 2007
How has your Liautaud experience influenced your career to date?
“My Liautaud experience, both inside and outside the class, has taught me a slew of skills and virtues that have helped me shape my career. Amongst them is analytical cross-functional thinking, ability to take hard and quick decisions, and value driven leadership. It has changed the way I approach business problems and I have learnt to see every challenge as an opportunity.” – Meet Mehta, MBA 2012
Now that you’ve graduated, what advice do you have for current or prospective UIC Liautaud students?
“Going into the program, have a clear idea of what you want to get out of it. With that in mind, constantly put yourself out there: repeatedly put yourself into positions / environments that allow you to do / get to what you want to do. Also, use business school as a great opportunity to test new things. It may be one of the chances for you to do that (without hesitations).” –Dominic Blank, MBA 2012
