LMU Offers International Biz Course in Barcelona

Professor Yongsun Paik at Loyola Marymount University will be teaching a course titled, “International Business Environment and Practices” in Barcelona, Spain. The course will be held June 28 to July 29, 2015. Registration is now open for the course.

This course will introduce students to the international business environments and practices with a particular focus on Europe. Students will learn about national differences in political, economic and socio-cultural systems. The course will focus on the complex issues related to the global economy.

Students in the course will also study international trade and investment theories and policies, foreign exchange market, and global strategies in manufacturing, marketing, and human resources management in order to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for managing international business operations.

The course curriculum integrates a rigorous international business studies along side the benefits of the rich and vibrant cultural setting of Catalonia. Students will primarily be in Barcelona but will also participate in a two-night excursion to one of the major cities in Europe.

Other program features are several site visits to local businesses where students will gain firsthand knowledge to complement their classroom learning. Students will also engage in a series of cultural activities to acquaint them with the social and cultural setting of Barcelona and surrounding areas. Students will also participate in half-day or full-day cultural excursions. Activities may also be arranged with local students from Barcelona.

Students can apply for this course through the study abroad program website. The deadline to apply for the course is Feb. 10, 2015.
