Scheller Announces New Supply Chain Program

Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business announced in a recent press release that it will be launching a consortium-based Supply Chain Leader Development program in early spring. The new program is focused on helping corporate clients manage and develop their supply chains. The program’s academic director is Operations Management Professor Soumen Ghosh, who is faculty director of non-degree and custom programs for Scheller’s Huang Executive Education Center.

The Huang Executive Education Center, where the program will be held, has hosted similar programs for individual companies in the past. Ghosh told Scheller’s news blog that this was one of the reasons for developing the program. “As other companies have discovered what we offer, they’ve wanted to have similar opportunities, so we developed this new program,” Ghosh said.

The program takes place over eight days held in two, four-day segments. The first segment runs from March 23-26 and the second from April 27-30. Supply chain leaders from more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies helped develop the program for Scheller which is aimed at high-to mid-level directors and managers within companies’ global operations and supply chain areas.

The program will attempt to give attendees an understanding of the end-to-end supply chain, enhance leadership skills and improve strategic, technical and business competencies. These skills are taught through a blended learning experience, mixing up activities with lectures, case studies, peer to peer learning and team activities.

The program fees vary based on how many people will attend from each company. The cost is $6,700 for one to two people from the same company. For three to five people you receive a 10 percent discount and for six or more people you receive a 20 percent discount.
