Wharton SF Hosts Retail Discussion Event
The Wharton School, San Francisco, will be hosting a discussion event about the digital revolution in the retail sector. The event titled, “The Digital Revolution in Retail Marketing: Consumer Emotions, Digital Joy and How to Win the Hearts and Minds of Your Customers” will feature Wharton professor Patti Williams and Founder and Chairman of PIRCH, Jim Stuart. The event will be held Jan. 13 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, California from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
During the event, Prof. Williams and Mr. Stuart will discuss their views on the way that retail marketing is being affected by the increase in digital tools with attendants. They will also discuss how traditional retail and digital formats of retail are expanding and changing.
Professor Williams teaches in the marketing department at the Wharton School. She teaches the marketing planning course to full time and executive MBA students. Her research focuses on consumers’ emotional responses and how that influences their consumption and persuasion. She serves on the Journal of Consumer Psychology and the Journal of Marketing research editorial review boards and also as an associate editor at the Journal of Consumer Research.
Jim Stuart is the Founder and Chairman of PIRCH. Stuart founded the company in 2010. PIRCH is a San Diego based company that specializes in fixtures and appliances for kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor areas. The company is listed no. 32 on Forbes’s America’s Most Promising Companies list.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with registration. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by a networking reception for attendants. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided to those who attend the event. Registration is required to attend the event. The cost of registration is $25 per person.
