Bauer Jumps More Than Ten Spots on Top Graduate School List

The C.T. Bauer College of Business at University of Houston moved up 13 spots in an annual ranking of the top graduate schools in nation done by U.S. News & World Report’s.

Baurer’s Professional MBA program attained its highest rank ever, this year landing in the 29th position among public institutions. The program tied for 48th overall out of a total of 213 ranked institutions. Last year, Bauer ranked 61st overall. Bauer’s full-time MBA program performed well this year too. It took 53rd place among public institutions.

Bauer College Dean Latha Ramchand spoke to Bauer’s news website about what this ranking means to her and the university.

“It is rewarding to see that the hard work of our faculty, staff, students and alumni is being recognized,” Bauer College Dean Latha Ramchand said. “Everyone at the Bauer College is committed to student success, and we work tirelessly to provide our students with the best classroom experience, placement services and extracurricular opportunities. Anytime that one of our programs is ranked by a publication like U.S. News, it validates that what we are doing has impact.”

The list surveys 213 participating schools overall and ranks them according to peer assessments, acceptance rate and part-time enrollment. Other factors include students’ GPA and GMAT scores, as well as years of work experience of the incoming class and placement upon graduation.

The Professional MBA program at Bauer is a flexible program that takes 22 months to complete a total of 48 credit hours. Classes meet during the evenings once a week.
