A professor at Bauer College of Business at University of Houston was recently recognized as one of the United States’ most productive researchers in Marketing.
Professor Michael Ahearne, the C. T. Bauer Chair in Marketing and executive director of Bauer’s Sales Excellence Institute, tied for first place for highest author productivity according to The American Marketing Association Doctoral Special Interest Group. This is based on publications in AMA’s premiere journals– the Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Marketing Research. Two researchers, one from University of Mannheim and the other from Yale University, tied with Ahearne for first place with 10 publications each.
Far from being his only accomplishment, Ahearne tied for 11th overall for highest author productivity in all premiere marketing journals including the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research and Marketing Science. He has also been recognized as one of the most productive scholars in the field by AMA DocSIG in 2013
In total, Ahearne has published more than 40 articles. His articles have mostly focused on improving brand image through improvements in the performance of salespeople and sales organizations.
“This is a reflection of the amount and quality of the work we do. You’re not published in these journals unless your research makes a significant contribution to the field,” said Professor Edward Blair, chair of the college’s Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship. “And not only does our work win academic accolades, it wins awards for relevance to business practice.”
