Booth Names Clifford Chiu Hong Kong Campus’ Executive-in-Residence
The Booth School of Business has appointed Clifford Chiu as the first Distinguished Executive-in-Residence for the school’s new Hong Kong campus. According to a press release by the University of Chicago, Chiu is a senior adviser at Neuberger Berman Group and at Angelo, Gordon & Co., as well as a non-executive director of Hsin Chong Construction Group and Cambium Learning Group. He retired last year as a partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., where he led capital raising and investor relations for the Asia Pacific region.
Since mid-January, Chiu has been spending time at the Hong Kong campus meeting current students and alumni, sharing the wealth of insights and experience he has acquired over the course of his career to them.
“I look forward to rolling up my sleeves to mentor this inaugural class of accomplished Chicago Booth Executive MBA students based in Hong Kong,” Chiu said in the press release.
Chiu will work closely with Booth’s Executive MBA students on the Hong Kong campus. He also will serve as a speaker, moderator, or emcee in upcoming Chicago Booth events.
“The purpose of the Distinguished Executive-in-Residence role is to allow some of our most successful, eminent alumni to engage in a meaningful way with our current students and alumni—sharing the wealth of knowledge they have acquired over the course of their careers, providing coaching, guidance and related support,” said Richard Johnson, managing director of Chicago Booth’s Executive MBA Program Asia. “We are extremely fortunate and thankful that Clifford has agreed to take on this role for us in Hong Kong.”
