LMU Holds Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony

The College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University held its annual Beta Gamma Sigma induction ceremony. The ceremony was held on March 22. Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for member schools of AACSB. Graduate students need to be in the top 20 percent of their class to be inducted into the society.

Out of the 49 students inducted into the 2015 class of Beta Gamma Sigma, five of those were MBA students and three were Executive MBA students at LMU. Two LMU professors, LMU Finance Professor Don DePamphilis and organizational design and development expert Patricia Palleschi, were also recognize with honorary faculty memberships to BGS at the ceremony.

Since its founding in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma has established more than 525 collegiate chapters in over 20 countries and territories worldwide. The society has inducted more than 725,000 scholars into membership. Members currently reside in all 50 U.S. states and more than 160 countries and serve in corporate, government, non-profit, educational and other management positions at every level of responsibility.

Students are chosen by the faculty of their business schools to be invited to membership in the Society. Students must be enrolled in a business program at a school that is accredited by AACSB International that has a chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma and be in the upper 10 percent of the junior or senior class or the upper 20 percent of the graduating master’s class, or completed all requirements to receive a doctorate degree.

Notable Beta Gamma Sigma members include: Randall Stephenson, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, AT&T, Rebecca Rimel, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Pew Charitable Trusts, Anshu Jain, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Deutsche Bank and Geoffrey S. Greener, Chief Risk Officer, Bank of America.
