online mba

The Marshall School of Business announced that it has launched a new online MBA program. The school has partnered with All Campus, a creative agency and enrollment services firm, to help support the program’s launch and future growth. The first class of online MBA students will begin this fall. The unique curriculum for the program is designed specifically for online and not a replica of the in class MBA program put online.

The new program will focus on emerging online business topics such as internet analytics, social media, virtual teams, and entrepreneurial thinking. The course material will incorporate live action cases, interactive exercises and virtual teams. Students will also have the ability to take classes in online programs at other USC schools and enroll in additional online courses from Marshall MS programs in entrepreneurship, marketing and global supply chain management.

Students in the online MBA program complete six core courses and two electives and can complete the program in 21 months or five semesters. Students are also required to complete a week-long residential session on-campus. The residential session includes the program’s initial coursework and is essential to the rest of the program’s curriculum. In addition to online course assignments, regular live class sessions conducted via webcam, team meetings and one-on-one feedback sessions with faculty.

Program participants are expected to participate actively in independent exercises and live class sessions approximately eight hours a week. Students should also be prepared to spend about 20 hours completing assignments, readings and team projects. Requirements for prom participation includes:

A computer (Windows or Mac OS) with the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer or FireFox web browsers, a headset or speakers and a microphone, a HD Webcam, and broadband/high speed internet at least 1.5mbps.
