To a business school, corporate partnerships are an important part of any MBA program. The partnership offer opportunities to students that wouldn’t be available otherwise– access to executives, insider perspectives and, of course, networking opportunities.
To honor this important relationship, University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business hostes a Corporate Recognition Lunch on Friday, April 24. This year, McCombs honored three companies and one individual.
Southwest Airlines received the honor of ‘Outstanding Corporate Partner.” This is the award for companies whose engagement with the school impacts areas like research, research centers, faculty, students, priority initiatives and executive education.
The “Trailblazer Award,” which honors the company possessing unique and innovative involvement with McCombs , was awarded to KPMG.
The “Outstanding Executive Education Partner” category was awarded to Shell. This award is for a company who has significant engagement with the Texas Executive Education program.
Finally, Lawrence Pope of Halliburton received the “Outstanding Corporate Champion” award. This honor is reserved for an individual within a company who has made significant contributions to the relationship between the school and their company.
