SFSU Holds CIO Exec Development Program

The San Francisco State College of Business will be offering The CIO Executive Development Program this May. The CIO Executive Development Program helps professionals in the information technology sector to develop the necessary skills to be successful in their jobs and advance their career opportunities. The program features business-focused content that will complement participants’ technical skills, such as strategy and business alignment, planning and management, budgeting and tracking, leadership and communication planning, governance and IT innovation.

Davood Ghods, Chief, Office of Technology Services, California Department of Technology will serve as the program’s keynote speaker. The program was created for CIOs, IT executives and personnel identified as leaders who seek a professional education program to increase their competencies and continue lifelong professional learning.

The CIO Executive Development program is action oriented. Program participants will work with the actual tools used by executives currently in a CIO role. Participants will also take part in case studies that will allow them to return to their organization with new perspectives and deliverables. During the program, students will work to create an IT strategy that links directly to their company’s business strategy, formulate an IT budget, develop an action plan, build an effective IT governance program, understand marketing and promoting the value of IT in a company, outline a model for managing effective mergers and divestitures and discuss the latest trends and innovations for information technology.

The CIO Executive Development program will be held May 11-12, 2015. Those interested in attending the program can purchase tickets online, here. The cost of the program is $1,695.00. Ticket sales for the event end on May 11.
