Students at Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration are beginning the schedule of events leading up to graduation. For MBA students, CAU’s graduation will take place over three events.

On Wednesday, May 13 at 5 pm, CAU president, Carlton E. Brown and First Lady T. Laverne Ricks-Brown will host a Salute to Graduates at the Henderson Student Center Multipurpose Room. This year will be Brown’s last graduation before Ronald A. Johnson, Ph.D. takes over as university president.

Friday, May 15 beginning at 4 pm, graduate students are expected to attend the commencement briefing and rehearsal.

Monday, May 18, beginning at 8 am, students will begin the actual Commencement Convocation at Panther Stadium. Guest seating opens at 6 am while students at the same time will be lining up for a march at the Bishop Cornelius Henderson Student Center. The march will begin the ceremony promptly at 8 am.

Dress code, decorum and other details can be found on CAU’s website.

The commencement orator at this year’s event is Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of The National Urban League, the nations largest civil rights organization. According to the CAU commencement briefing, Morial’s work at NUL has transformed the organization.

“Under his stewardship, the League has had record fundraising success towards a 250MM, five-year fundraising goal and he has secured the BBB nonprofit certification, which has established the NUL as a leading national nonprofit. His creativity has led to initiatives such as the Urban Youth Empowerment Program to assist young adults in securing sustainable jobs, and Entrepreneurship Centers in five cities to help the growth of small businesses. Also, Morial created the National Urban League Empowerment Fund, which has pumped almost $200 million into urban impact businesses including minority business through both debt and equity investments.”
