Jordann Schoonover is a Full-Time MBA student at the Graziadio School of Business and Management. She first came to Pepperdine University for her undergraduate degree. She decided to return to Pepperdine for her MBA because of her positive experience with the professors. “Teachers truly care about us and they’re here because they love what they do, which is teaching us, and helping us become a part of the real world,” she said.
In her experience at Graziadio, Schoonover fond that the professors for the MBA program shared the same passion for teaching and for their students. “Every teacher is here to make a socially responsible individual who is not going out into the world just simple to make the bottom line bigger but to create individuals that are going to better the world for future generation,” Schooner said.
Schoonover explains how pursuing a MBA degree has impacted her life. She explains that she already had the leadership skills and the potential but in order to be successful, she needed to gain more knowledge and refine the leadership skills she already had. She said that interacting with more experienced students also helped her to practice those skills and to gain the necessary knowledge in a a safe environment.
Her experience at the Graziadio School showed her that the teachers really are willing to help the students to be as successful as possible. “I have found that the teachers are willing to go above and beyond to help you not only with your schoolwork, but outside of school finding internships and finding jobs,” she said. The teachers at the school also helped her with career advice and job search, in addition to her coursework. “I emailed a teacher recently asking advice on accepting a job or not and they invited me to lunch and sat me down and talked to me for over an hour. It was definitely very insightful and made me feel cared for outside the curriculum.”
