Goizueta Professor, Student Named to LEAD Atlanta Class of 2016
Leadership Atlanta has named two members of the Goizueta Business School at Emory University community to their LEAD Atlanta Class of 2016–Assistant Professor Erika Hall and Evening MBA student Murad Karimi. LEAD Atlanta is an eight-month long leadership development intensive that also focuses on community education. The program is available for Atlanta professionals between the ages of 25 and 32.
Hall joined Goizueta at the beginning of the most recent academic year as an assistant professor of organization and management, after receiving her Ph.D. in Management & Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She studies the influence of race, gender, and class-based bias on workplace and societal interactions. Her research also focuses on the perceptions of leaders with multiple minority identities. Her work has received significant attention from the national media.
Karimi founded Mosaic Investments, and currently serves as a Managing Partner for the firm. Mosaic Investments specializes in acquiring and managing real estate and businesses in the Southestern United States, including 14 Arby’s restaurants in the greater Tampa, Florida area. Before founding Mosaic Investments, Karimi served as a Principal for Georgia Fast Casual, LLC, where he managed a chain of Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurants.
“We are thrilled to welcome this next class of high-potential young leaders,” said Pat Upshaw-Monteith, the president and CEO of Leadership Atlanta. “LEAD Atlanta goes beyond educating its members about the current issues in the region. It helps foster meaningful relationships that underscore the importance of community, and gives them the tools to fulfill their passion in making Atlanta an even better place to live.”
