Smeal Launches New Supply Chain Leadership Academy
The Smeal College of Business at Penn State University has launched a new supply chain program, The Supply Chain Leadership Academy, an online bootcamp designed to help supply chain leaders apply leadership concepts in holistic supply chain management. The program was created in partnership with CorpU, a corporate learning pioneer.
The program is taught through a three-pronged approach. It draws on best practices in situation based learning to refine student competencies and drive organizational improvement through end-to-end supply chain management. Program participants will complete three five-week courses that focus on end-to-end supply chain excellence, integrated supply networks and supply chain leadership.
CorpU partners with some of the world’s leading business and academic organizations to pioneer new approaches in virtual learning communities. CorpU courses are offered to organizations and provide access to leadership development programs from the world’s best universities and prominent faculty in a cloud-based, social learning platform.
“Today, only a small portion of available talent has the technical, tactical, and strategic supply chain skills needed to function in a knowledge-based global economy. Achieving supply chain excellence is an urgent need for many of the world’s largest companies in an ever more complex environment,” executive director of the Center for Supply Chain Research at Smeal, Steve Tracey said. “Our partnership with CorpU seeks to help companies build the full range of capabilities across all levels of the organization needed to remain competitive.”
Those who enroll in the Supply Chain Leadership Academy will be eligible for the Professional Certificate in Supply Chain Integration from Smeal. For more information on the Smeal College of Business, visit metromba.com
