Wharton Exec Ed. Partners with Leadership Program to Revamp Advanced Management Program

The Executive Education Program at The Wharton School and the Wharton Leadership Program have announced that they have partnered to create the Executive Education’s flaghip Advanced Management Program (AMP). The program, which will be offered twice a year, will bring together executives from multinational corporations and organizations to learn how to strengthen their readiness to succeed in the senior-most leadership roles in their companies. The program will last for five weeks and will be taught at The Wharton School’s Philadelphia campus.

Michael Useem, the William and Jaclyn Egan Professor of Management and the director of Wharton’s Center for Leadership and Change Management, will serve as the new faculty chair for AMP. He will also be joined by other Wharton faculty in finance, leadership, management, marketing and innovation. Executive Director of the Wharton Leadership Program, Jeff Klein will serve as the program’s learning director.

The core curriculum for the AMP will focus on management, marketing, finance, strategy, and organizational dynamics. Through experiential learning, students in the AMP will learn how to overcome the challenges that participants face as leaders and will have the opportunity to develop and practice new skills while working with leadership development experts. Program participants will work in and out of the classroom with experts that include one of Chile’s most accomplished moutanineers, NASA consultants and the former director of Leadership Programs at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Enrollment for the program is extremely selective. Only 60 participants are chosen to attend the program. The cost of AMP is $55,000. The next two programs will be held Sept. 27 to Oct. 30, and May 29, 2016 to July 1, 2016.
