Two alumni from San Francisco State University College of Business have teamed up to launch craftedbeard.com, according to a press release from the school. Hanna Azar, BS Finance ‘12, and Aaron Schulweis, BS Finance ‘12, started the project three years after they parted ways at SFSU. Then, Azar planned on pursuing a career in commercial and residential real estate investment and Schulweis one in wealth management and financial underwriting.
The duo met when they partnered up for their culminating project in strategic management three years ago in 2012. Although they recognized that they had many things in common, they did not plan on partnering to launch craftedbeard.com at that time. Azar launched and currently maintains a website dedicated to repairing and buying iPhones. Schulweis is a partner at imagewiki.org, an aggregate image ownership database with reverse image technology. The two had stayed in touch after departing SFSU and began to discuss their desire to start a new project. They realized how much they might enjoy working together and spent several months brainstorming their next project, a website dedicated to high-quality men’s facial products.
Azar believes that the education and networking opportunities available to the two at SFSU were a big help in achieving the success the pair have enjoyed. “It is clear to both Aaron and myself that our time at San Francisco State is a major contributing factor to our past success, and our future perseverance. SF State brought us together, forming a strong business team, while teaching us the necessary skills to survive in both structured and entrepreneurial ventures. We are excited to continue putting our education to the test with our work at Crafted Beard,” he said in a press release from the school.
