An International Business Professor at San Francisco State College of Business has been awarded a Citation of Excellence from Emerald Group Publishing, according to a press release from the school. Lihua Wang, Associate Professor of International Business, received the prestigious award for her article Outward internationalization of private enterprises in China: The effect of competitive advantages and disadvantages compared to home market rivals which appeared in the Journal of World Business in 2012. Wang received her PhD from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and focuses most of her research around organizational architecture, international management, strategic alliance, and mergers and acquisitions. She received a similar honor in 2006 when she won the Best Article of 2006 in the Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing.
Emerald Group Publishing, which was founded in 1967 by academics unhappy with the publishers of their time, is a scholarly publisher of nearly 300 journals, as well as over 2500 book titles. They are based in Bingley in the United Kingdom but have offices stretching across the globe from Singapore to the United States.
Emerald Group Publishing emphasized the care that goes into selecting the articles that are bestowed this prestigious honor each year. “The selection process made by our own editorial experts is based initially on the citations being given to papers published in a previous year (in this case 2012), but our judging panel also take into account the content of the papers themselves in terms of novelty, inter-disciplinary interest and relevancy in today’s world,” they said in a statement appearing in the school’s press release.
