Mays Welcomes Eleven New Faculty Members
The Mays Business School at Texas A&M University is welcoming eleven new faculty members this year. The new faculty represent a diverse range of research fields, including behavioral economics, sales leadership, corporate governance, and information asymmetry. The scholars are coming to Mays from top business schools, including the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, the Stanford Graduate School of Business, the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and INSEAD.
Eli Jones will join the Mays Business School as dean, professor of marketing, and Peggy Pitman Mays Eminent Scholar Chair in Business. Jones will step into his new roles on July 1. Jones has a strong track record in both academia and industry. He eiarned his MBA, and then worked for three Fortune 100 corporations before returning to school for his Ph.D. He then taught business courses for undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, Ph.D., and executive education programs in the U.S. and abroad. He served as a professor of marketing, an associate dean, and founding executive director of the Sales Excellence Institute at the University of Houston, and then served as the dean of Louisiana State University’s E. J. Ourso College of Business and the dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
