Quinlan School of Business Alumni Profile

“When I first visited 1871, it literally caused me to stop in my tracks,” Vasquez told the magazine. “After that initial visit, I started going to other coworking spaces, and I fell in love with the concept.”

Before long, Vasquez opened her own coworking space, The Shift, in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. There customers can reserve affordable space for a four-hour time block, or one shift, for $16 on weekdays and $15 on weekends. Membership options are also available and include networking events, access to networking communities, and classes taught by industry experts.

Vasquez told Loyola:

“Everyone works from home or a coffee shop up here, and I thought, why are these shared spaces only downtown?… My business is here to help support other people’s businesses and passions.”
