Alumni Profile: Sellinger’s Ryan McQueeney, MBA ’10, CFO of RedOwl

A recent article on Loyola Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business website profiled Ryan McQueeney, MBA ‘10 and CFO of RedOwl Analytics. McQueeney wanted to get his MBA to expand his finance and accounting skill set with more general business skills and chose Sellinger after hearing high recommendations for the program from his work colleagues. He graduated from Sellinger’s MBA Fellows program in 2010.

Today, McQueeney leads finance and accounting for RedOwl. According to the company website, RedOwl is an analytics security software provider with solutions that provide monitoring, reporting, and post-incident forensics to clients by ingesting communications, digital activity, physical access, and financial transactions into one platform to provide a holistic view of an individual, applying advanced mathematics to model and proactively identify risky behavior before it becomes a security or compliance headache.

Aside from his job, McQueeney is also currently a member of the board of directors, Audit & Finance Committee chair and an executive committee member of Behavioral Health Systems Baltimore.

“In reflecting on my time at Sellinger, what I look most fondly on was learning from my classmates and creating lasting relationships. It helped me think more holistically about problems because their backgrounds were different than mine,” he said. “I also learned that diverse groups are important to getting the best outcomes.”
