Times Higher Education Shortlists Henley Business School for “Business School of the Year”

Henley Business School

Henley Business School of the University of Reading was recently shortlisted to receive the Times Higher Education (THE) “Business School of the Year” award. The award acknowledges the accomplishments of educators who have exhibited strong innovation and development in their fields. The criteria upon which the finalists were judged were student experience, alumni relations and relationships within the business environment.

Henley attributed the judges’ nomination to a range of accomplishments by staff and students over the 2013-2014 school year. These included the growth and development of the Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship, which is home to an entrepreneur-in-residence program, a student competition called IDEAFEST and a Student Business Incubator, which provides resources and facilities for students and alumni who are launching their own enterprises.

The school also increased its focus on the African community, placing emphasis on the Henley South Africa program, and grew its MBAid program, which focuses on social engagement by MBA students in the region. And then there was the collaboration with faculty and students of the Beijing Institute of Technology to launch a new BA Accounting Programme.

Beyond these accomplishments, Henley has also been garnering increasing recognition from a range of publications. A recent EQUIS report noted the school’s strength in social responsibility and ethics; the Research Excellence Framework 2014 rated Henley Top 10 for Impact in Business and Management and the Financial Times placed Henley among the top 30 it its latest ranking of executive education programs.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 26, 2015, at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. Often called the “Oscars of Higher Education,” THE Awards are open to all higher education institutions in the United Kingdom.
