UC Davis Creates Aggie Pride Fellowship

Students who attended UC Davis and are interested in pursuing an MBA education at the same school may now apply for a new scholarship that will help fund their degree by sharing how they would promote “Aggie pride,” according to a press release from the school. The “Aggie Pride Alumni Fellowship” is open to applicants to UC Davis Graduate School of Management’s part-time MBA programs who completed their undergraduate degree at UC Davis. The programs are offered in Sacramento and San Ramon. Students who are awarded the fellowship will receive up to $3,000.

To apply for the fellowship, students must write a short essay describing how being a UC Davis graduate has helped their career as well as how they would promote “Aggie pride” once they completed their MBA. UC Davis students and graduates are nicknamed “Aggies” due to the school’s founding as a land grant agricultural school. The UC Davis Aggies also represent UC Davis in NCAA Division I sports in the Big West conference.

James Stevens, senior assistant dean of student affairs, expressed that the fellowship will help to enroll the best possible candidates as well as build upon a UC Davis education. “The new fellowship recognizes the quality of a UC Davis degree and looks forward to building on this strong foundation. These scholarships reflect a serious investment from the Graduate School of Management to provide access to the MBA program and to enroll the most talented professionals,” he said in a press release from the school.
