Coles College of Business Consistently Ranked Nationwide as Top MBA Program

In recent years, the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University has cultivated a consistent record of top twenty-five rankings in several surveys of business schools nationwide.

Among Coles College’s titles include the #1 ranked MBA for part-time, public universities in Georgia (Bloomberg BusinessWeek), a top 25 Tier-One EMBA program (CEO Magazine), and #25 in the United States for an online MBA (U.S. News & World Report).

Given KSU’s success, it is understandable that business school graduates should be so high in demand both in the Atlanta metro area and beyond. Dr. Kathy Schwaig, Coles College Dean, attributes the success of KSU’s MBA program to a number of factors such as a vibrant student life, strong administrative leadership, and the offer of ‘real world’ business experience. In addition, certain specialized degrees offered only at Coles- such as undergraduate offerings in cybersecurity- have made it a program with cutting-edge and unique offerings.

Dr. Schwaig further emphasized the opportunities created by being a part of the Atlanta metro community. “I get contacted daily by business professionals who want to lecture in our classes, hire our students, and impact our programs in a positive way. Our students love to hear from practicing business professionals about what’s going on in the business world today,” said the Dean.

Further, Dr. Schwaig attributes the college’s success to paying attention to the needs of students, and the school’s effective use of communication with the student body through social media. She additionally emphasized the importance of a business school to not just study business from the outside, but to actively engage. She says: “At Coles, we not only teach business, we engage in it. We are an engrossed and diverse community of scholars and practitioners committed to producing quality graduates, delivering an innovative education, and fostering community and business relationships.”
