Scheller College Takes First Place in 2015 U.S. Better World MBA Rankings
Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech has recently been ranked number one in the United States and sixth globally in the Corporate Knight’s Better World MBA rankings.
The foremost guide to help students select MBA programs that will best prepare them for current social and environmental challenges, Corporate Knights included 121 programs in this year’s ranking. Other high ranking schools in the United States included the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School, ranking globally at number eight and nine, respectively.
Last year, Scheller college launched the Strategic Sustainability MBA Concentration, and with it welcomed the inaugural class of Scheller Sustainability Fellows. The Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business- recently renamed with support from the Ray C. Anderson Foundation- serves as a way to bring together students, faculty, entrepreneurs and companies to develop solutions for challenges of sustainability.
Beril Toktay, Faculty Director for the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business, believes these growing opportunities to take on sustainability challenges while investing in faculty research is a large catalyst behind the number one ranking.
“Opportunities for Scheller students to gain skills and experience related to sustainability throughout their MBA education abound not only at Scheller but across Georgia Tech, Atlanta, and beyond,” said the Dean of Scheller College, Maryam Alavi. “These opportunities will expand significantly over the coming years as Scheller College, Georgia Tech, and the City of Atlanta have all committed to greater levels of sustainability innovation and leadership.”
