Schulich Ranked #1 MBA Program for Business Sustainability Education
Just last week, Corporate Knights, The Magazine for Clean Capitalism, released its 2015 Better World MBA Ranking. The ranking is an annual guide revealing which MBA programs are the best at preparing students to tackle social and environmental issues. It compares programs and looks at core courses, the breadth of faculty research, and support centers that foster comprehensive sustainability-oriented learning experience.
121 programs were ranked this year, including the 100 programs listed within the Financial Time 2015 Global MBA ranking, along with 21 additional schools known for business sustainability education. The top-ranked spot went to the Schulich School of Business at York University for the 12th year in a row. Schulich has long been known as the leading sustainable MBA program in the world.
Schulich ranked high in all three categories of the study: it has 125 published faculty research in the past three years, three core courses focused on sustainability, and 15 relevant centers fostering sustainability-oriented learning experiences. In fact, Schulich received 100% ranking in Institutes, 100% ranking in publications, 100% in citations, and 60% in courses.
The breakdown of the rankings was decently spread out. An impressive 55% of the schools were from North America, including nine schools from Canada. European schools made up 33% of the ranked schools and the remaining spots were spread out across the globe.
Other top-ranked schools include:
- Desautels Faculty of Management
- Copenhagen Business School
- KAIST
- Haskayne School of Business
- Scheller College of Business
According to the CEO of Corporate Knights, Toby Heaps, in a press release, “The top ranked Better World MBA programs serve a vital and growing demand for leaders who understand the interrelatedness between the planet, people, and profits, and know how to harness the power of business for a better world.”
