SJU Veterans Bootcamp Program Now Accepting Applications

The Haub School of Business is now accepting applications for the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans. St. Joseph’s was accepted into the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) in early 2015. EBV is an entrepreneurial and small business education program at the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. The program is run by Syracuse’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families. The first class for the program at SJU will begin the program in spring 2016.

The program is open to any interested post-9/11 veteran with a disability and an honorable discharge status. Those interested in attending the program can visit www.sju.edu/veterans. The deadline for the 2016 program application is December 18, 2015.

The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities is conducted over three different phases. The first portion of the program is online classes. Classes for the program begin on March 1, 2016. The second phase of instruction is completed on-campus at St. Joseph’s University. The on-campus instruction runs from April 9 to April 17. The third and final phase of the program is a year-long mentorship. The mentorships will be offered through the Haub School to up to 25 veterans.

Program participants will also receive assistance from the United States Small Business Administration, corporate partners and donors. This assistantship allows program participants to complete the program for no cost. There will be up to 25 veterans accepted for this program. The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities is a national recognized program. It has been ranked among the top 10 entrepreneurship programs in the country by Inc. Magazine. Since its founding in 2007, more than 1200 veterans across the United States have completed the program and 68 percent have launched a new business after completing the program.
