USC Marshall Hosts Third Annual MBA Diversity Conference

On October 30, 2015, the USC Marshall School of Business welcomed executives from businesses such as McDonald’s, Sony, MGM and Genentech to speak at their third annual MBA Diversity Conference.

Presented by the Black Graduate Business Leaders and Latino Management & Business Association, the event sought to address how to reach consumers in a rapidly expanding multicultural marketplace.

In a press release, Debra Langford, Officer of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives for the USC Marshall School of Business, said “Diversity is a strategic business imperative today more than ever, and inclusion is critical for success. We’ve championed this cause by connecting current students, prospective students and recent alumni with diverse leaders in the business community and within the Trojan Family network.”

USC Marshall School of Business is a longtime leader in diversity efforts. USC Marshall has been a member of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, an organization founded in 1966 to offer African American men opportunities to obtain positions in corporate environments. The Consortium is now open to men and women of all cultural backgrounds, and has a membership of schools across the nation.

Speakers included Courtney Moore, VP and Regional Diversity Officer at Morgan Stanley; Crystal Hunt, Assistant VP of Diversity Recruiting at Citigroup; Evelyn Mendez Oliveto, Director of Digital Sales and Marketing, MGM; and Paul Robinson, Group VP at Time Warner Cable.
