Saïd Business School Bestows Second MBA Scholarship for Women

María Belén Muñoz Toro, a Chilean student who will enter Oxford University’s Saïd Business School in January 2016, was awarded the second Oxford Executive MBA Scholarship for Women.

Oxford Saïd offers the scholarship in association with the 30% Club, an organization that works to promote gender diversity on corporate boards. Toro is a Product Supply Manufacturing Site Leader and Initiative Manager at Proctor and Gamble’s Prestige Fragrances.

In a press release, Toro said, “I am extremely grateful and honored to receive this prestigious Oxford EMBA and 30% Club Scholarship which recognizes the importance of supporting women to achieve excellence in business. I know the Oxford EMBA will impact on my career in a hugely positive way.” Kathy Harvey, director of the Oxford Executive MBA at Saïd, noted the increasing numbers of women in the program, and the need to ensure diversity in an ongoing way.

Harvey said, “Maria encapsulates the ambition and drive to succeed that will help her to make the most of this opportunity. She has already proven herself to be a versatile manager, and we look forward to helping her fulfill her ambitious career plans at Procter and Gamble… we have been welcoming increasing numbers of highly talented women into our Oxford EMBA, and developments such as this do encourage and support women to undertake a business degree which will allow them to deliver board-level performance for their organizations.”
