On December 18th, the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston will host a convocation ceremony for over 700 graduating students. The event will take place in the Hofheinz Pavilion on the University of Houston campus and will include a keynote address by Elizabeth Killinger, president of NRG Retail and Reliant.
The convocation ceremony will celebrate 586 undergraduates and 133 graduate students who will receive their business degree from UH. Latha Ramchand, Bauer College Dean, will be present to recognize the graduates.
Keynote speaker Elizabeth Killinger (BBA ‘91) has more than 25 years of experience in the energy and service industries, both within the United States and abroad. Fifteen of those years have been with NRG and Reliant, where her career was able to steadily grow. Today, Killinger runs NRG Retail and Reliant, a division of NRG worth over $5 billion and serving more than three million customers with three million products around the world. In addition, NRG Retail is the leading multi-brand retail electricity business in the state of Texas, and third-largest in the Northeast. Killinger’s belief in the “Era of Personal Power” has led NRG into its role as an industry leader by providing consumers with new insights and choices for powering their lives.
Killinger is strongly committed to helping future generations, and as such is a member of both the Energy Advisory Board and the Bauer College Board. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Hearing and Speech, North Texas Commission and Greater Houston Partnership, and the March of Dimes. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Bauer in Management Information Systems.
