Foster School Ranks Top 50 Global MBA According to FT
The Financial Times just released its 2016 Global MBA Ranking, and the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business placed in the top 50 (#49) in the world and #21 in the US. The Foster School has continued to improve its ranking every year since 2005, where it ranked #93 globally and #56 in the U.S.
According to the ranking, the Foster School offers a very competitive, three-year, post-graduation salary of $120,279. It also demonstrates an impressive percent salary increase post-MBA of 87% and an equally impressive 96% job-placement rate. The Foster School was the only school in Seattle and greater Washington State to make it onto the list.
Overall, the Financial Times emphasizes a school’s success in job placement, earnings, and faculty research—all areas where the Foster School excels. Foster School faculty were especially competitive in research productivity, ranking #13 in the U.S. and #16 globally. They also ranked fourth among public universities, placing them in the same tier as Columbia, Stanford, and Northwestern. Foster School faculty were also more productive per capita than their counterparts at UCLA, University of Texas, Austin, Yale, Dartmouth, and USC, according to a news release from the School.
The top spot in the Financial Times this year was taken by a non-U.S. school, Insead, out of France/Singapore. In fact, programs outside of the U.S. including the London Business School at #3 and the University of Cambridge at #10 held three of the top spots.
As for the Foster School, it also ranks in the top MBA programs according to the U.S. News Best Grad Schools, ranking at #23. And the Foster School Executive MBA, also moved up rankings from #32 in 2012 to #14 in the U.S.
