Internal Auditor Honors UNT Graduate as Emerging Leader

Leadership highlighted

Krystle Pond, a 2013 graduate from the University of North Texas College of Business, has been named as one of the top 2015 Emerging Leaders by Internal Auditor Magazine.

Pond shares the honor with fourteen other leaders in the field. These practitioners are “taking the internal auditing world by storm,” not just in their skill and ability within the field, but also with the way their work has been changing the business world’s perspective on the profession. Pond currently works as an Auditor II with Southwest Airlines.

All fifteen practitioners who received the honor were featured in the December 2015 cover story for Internal Auditor, “On the Rise.” The article profiled each leader, discussing their quick advancement through the field as well as their passion for new and unique approaches to the work.

Anne Millage, editor-in-chief of Internal Auditor, commented on the honorees and their rise to success. “It is difficult not to get caught up in the excitement and desire these young professionals bring to their jobs,” she said in a press release by UNT. “Each year I am more impressed by the caliber of their work, their passion for internal auditing, and their commitment to make the profession and their organizations better.” Internal Auditor is the leading magazine for the internal auditing profession, featuring indispensible information for professionals staying current with this diverse field.

The honorees were chosen by a panel of judges made up of distinguished leaders in the industry. Nominees were evaluated based on categories such as professionalism, certifications, advocacy, leadership, community service, and innovative thinking.
