Robinson College Real Estate Dept Ranked No. 3 Worldwide for Scholarly Research

The Department of Real Estate at Georgia State University – J. Mack Robinson College of Business has recently been honored with a No. 3 worldwide ranking for scholarly productivity within their discipline.

The ranking, which was released by the Journal of Real Estate Literature, evaluates each department by the number of publications in the top three peer-reviewed real estate journals between January 2011 and August 2015. The journals are: the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research, and Real Estate Economics. The ranking evaluated forty-four institutions, with Robinson College placing third worldwide and first in the state of Georgia.

Forty-seven scholars were also ranked for the number of personal publications present in the journals during the same period, with Robinson College professor Jon Wiley coming in at No. 3 for his work worldwide. Wiley currently holds the Richard E. Bower Professorship in Real Estate.

Robinson College offers a number of opportunities for Real Estate study, including a B.B.A, master of science, Ph.D. program and MBA concentration.

The Concentration in Real Estate allows MBA students to study important elements of the real estate discipline and focuses on a general familiarity with real estate-related concepts rather than preparing students solely to follow the real estate career path. The program is intended for students who already have work experience but desire working further towards leadership positions. The primary goal of the program is for students to develop analytical skills for global and culturally diverse settings, skills in assessing organizational performance, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
