Mays School Ranks High in Military Times’ List of Best Schools for Veterans
MilitaryTimes.com has recently released their 4th annual ranking of the best schools for veterans, featuring Texas A&M University – Mays Business School at #9.
The ranking was a response to the magazine’s ‘Best for Vets’ survey, published in November 2015. The rigorous questionnaire sought information from any business schools offering a graduate degree. The survey was scored according to input from veterans about what features were important to them. 180 schools completed the survey, with the top 77 being published as part of the list. In addition to input from veterans, the survey scoring included data from the Veterans Affairs and Defense departments, as well as three sources from the Education Department.
Each school was evaluated based on five categories: student support, academic outcomes and quality, university culture, academic policies, and cost and financial aid. Additional factors were also considered in order to create the ranking, such as participation in the Yellow Ribbon program and acceptance of some graduate academic credits for military training.
Mays Business School ranked number 9 in the ‘Best for Vets’ ranking, with 46 out of 153 members of the military enrolled in 2015. 98% of all enrolled military members ultimately graduate.
Other schools at the top of the list included the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration and the Eastern Kentucky University College of Business and Technology. The Mays School topped the ranking for Texas schools, with the only other Texas school- Texas Tech University College of Business- in place at #23.
